Apparently there were plans for Vision to turn on Iron Man (for Wanda?)

From Civil War: The Art of the Movie, we see Vision disabling Iron Man’s armor while War Machine fires at Falcon and Wanda looks on.

This is clearly invoking the moment in Civil War #7 where (young) Vision phases through Tony’s armor:

Given the framing (Scarlet Witch’s back to Iron Man and Iron Man facing Wanda) and expressions (Vision angry, Wanda surprised, Tony’s body language surprised), it appears this is meant to depict Vision turning on Iron Man to protect Wanda.

Butler Vision (aka literally JARVIS)

I think it’s the first mistake Vision has made.

Vision starts to care for people. Do you think that could be a first step to experiencing love?

This a really interesting potential inversion from his normal comic book persona, where falling in love is very validating for Vision because it assures him he is human.

In MCU, though, Vision doesn’t seem to have those existential issues. He was born perfect, worthy of Mjolnir. It’ll be interesting to see how he perceives new feelings, considering the apparent result of them.

Actually, at first in the comics Vizh had tremendous self doubt as to not only whether he COULD love Wanda but also whether he had a right to–that she may be better off with a human. That was one of the endearing things about him.

I would say that his “it seems only humans may be affected by…love” phase was very brief in comparison to the years he spent feeling that it was his love for Wanda and Wanda’s love for him that made him human.

There’s also various moments with other characters and situations (Carol Danvers, Mantis, and recently his making his own family) that play into his attitude that love brings him closer to humanity or at times is the greatest chance he has at it. Sometimes it’s treated as soulful, sometimes creepy.

This is especially true of the times when he’s actually with Wanda; his feelings on love and his humanity run wildly divergent when he’s not.
