Not true, Marvel and Disney have been using her for quite a bit of SOLO merch, but somehow seem to forget she exists in the group merch.
Also Fox doesn’t own her, they were just dicks and stole Quicksilver.
As I said, they have the power to use her in marketing, but it is believed they choose not to because they don’t fully own her. The exception is mostly the merch for adults.
I love Sharon Carter and think she was a great addition to the movies…but lets get real here, it is totally not okay to erase a Scarlet Witch from ALL group merch in favour of a character who wasn’t actually part of the main battle arc.
This is the big ‘versus’ team shot and you benched one of your starting line-up and brought in a cheerleader by mistake because you thought the ‘dress code’ was darks and darks…
…and no I’m not belittling Sharon and her involvement in Civil War. She’s a strong, capable woman who knows how to kick ass and when to lay down some sass, but in this analogy she’s not one of the players on the team, she’s the one on the sidelines cheering on her chosen team.
And it’s not just one or two items. Every ‘Team Cap’ piece of merch I find has Scarlet Witch completely gone with Sharon Carter flying into action instead.
…like this Civil War Activity/Sticker book…
Yep, that’s right…the team consists of Steve, Clint, Sam, Bucky…and Sharon
More Agent 13 Stickers…and still no Scarlet Witch…
Even an Agent 13 activity page!
I love Sharon…but how about you give Wanda some love instead of removing her from existence completely?
This is why Marvel fans have so little faith in you…because you remember the male heroes yet still believe the female characters are interchangeable and that no one will care as long as we have A girl there to represent.
It’s generally believed the marketing team has orders not to use her because of the rights being tied up with Fox. Contrary to popular belief, they can use her in marketing (and occasionally do), games, and cartoons, but Marvel has taken to not marketing any of the characters they do not fully own. This ban may possibly be finally lifting in some places, as it’s rumored we’ll be seeing the X-Men appear in some upcoming games.
“You really don’t need to do this anymore,” she mutters. Her fingers flex and fidget under his light grip. Her hand is much smaller in his. He doesn’t know why he finds the ratio endearing.
“Allow me my precautions.” He lifts up the bandage carefully. There’s nothing underneath it but the slightest of pinkened skin.
Wanda isn’t looking at her injury (and yes, he can admit now that the cry of pain from her had startled him horribly as she was pouring coffee–made him nearly anxious), but her lips are pursed in amusement. As if she can sense validation.
Vision clears his throat. “The Neosporin will prevent possible infection. Give me a moment and I’ll grab some from downstairs-”
“Vishz, it’s been four days.” She wriggles her fingers once more, stopping him as he sinks up to his knees into the floorboards. Wanda looks at him, his partial phase putting them at eye-level for once.
Her eyes…are quite green.
“If you want to hold my hand, next time just ask,” she finishes, squeezing his fingers before withdrawing her grip.
He stares as she walks into her room. And then he stares at his hand, not bothering to rise out of the floor.
