Preview for next week’s Quicksilver

How long till they undo this moronic origins retcon? As for the Pietro/Wanda relationship, there’s something that doesn’t make sense in Wanda and Pietro’s portrayal: he’s always shown as overprotective of a sister who doesn’t need much protection. The thing is, Wanda routinely gets possessed/loses control of her powers. Either acknowledge that Pietro’s overprotectiveness is based on the reality that his sister can’t always protect herself, or stop writing possession-stories for Wanda.

So this past summer, Nick Spencer asked me to work up some sketches of the Maximoff twins for something he was working on.  As usual I went a little overboard and this is what I sent him.  It’s hard for me to think of a dream project… but this would be awfully close to being one.  Enjoy!

Wanda’s ethnically Jewish-Romani (Romany/Roma?) through Magneto and Magda, her mom.

I did mention Magneto:

…of course Wanda’s not actually related to him anymore (or is she? We still don’t know who her dad that murdered Natalya was), but I prefer to ignore that.

Or do you mean Magda is also Jewish? She could be. It’s never been said outright, although the narrative leans more away from it, since the Sinti of Germany and at Auschwitz were predominately Catholic and
Magneto specifically dropped his Jewish heritage so he could fit among Magda’s people. That’s a longer story that has to do with meta reasons of trying to fix conflicting backstories for Magneto.
