why is wanda redhead?

Probably a disguise? Black Widow is blonde, Cap has a beard, Vision is…well. It’s not a great disguise, but it’s probably more for the audience, so we get the sense something’s not quite right, and so that when these characters are back to normal it feels more satisfying.

It might just be that they prefer red hair, and feels it emphasizes the “scarlet” part of her name. It happens occasionally in the comics, and CW Wanda has notably lighter hair than AoU Wanda.

We do have a little bit of indication that she will have brown hair again in A4, which I mentioned here.

I thought Wanda and Vision left Edinburgh after the fight against proxima midnight, but seems like they didn’t join the battle in Wakanda. Any idea or thoughts about what they’re doing after the fight? Also, it seems like wanda is stayin’ in hotel room alone while team cap is altogether. Why is she staying apart from them? (Sorry if my english is awkward:( still learning. btw I really do love your blog!)

Even from the just the official trailer, I think a timeline presents itself:

1. Early in the movie Wanda and Vision are resting at a hotel room. Probably lots of exposition for the audience.
2. In the same scene, or one very shortly thereafter, they head out on the streets and are attacked by Proxima and Corvus.
3. Vision, wounded in some way, is saved and defended by Wanda.
4. The rest of Team Cap arrives to help.

We can guess from the staging of the fight this is the introduction of Cap in the movie–the pause, zoom in, walk out of shadows is every inch a heroic introduction. I think pretty confidently these scenes happen very early in the film (not to mention the suspiciously happy “calm before the storm aura” in the hotel), and Vision absolutely is not going to die that early on.

As for why we haven’t seen Vision or Wanda in any other scenes besides Edinburgh, could be several reasons:

CG isn’t finished, to increase dramatic tension by not letting the audience know how the Edinburgh battle turns out, their scenes include major spoilers we can glean in a glance, they actually are in some of those scenes but they’re purposefully leaving them out, or they are purposefully hiding a lot more of the movie than we think.

It does seem like Wanda is less interested in the hero side of things right now, with her notably being the only character not in costume. Wanda’s powers aren’t great for undercover operation, for that matter–if Team Cap is trying to stay hidden, Wanda using her powers is a dead giveaway.

Also, you sent this to me some time ago, but I was mostly avoiding Tumblr in anticipation of TLJ and especially avoiding my inbox. Here’s a Wanda and Vis to make up for it! Your Engilsh is great, btw.

True. Do you think Steve is with her? Or someone else from Cap’s team?

WARNING: Spoilers for set photos for Infinity War and leaked clips

Well, by all accounts it appears that Team Cap was pretty nearby when the attack from the Black Order happens, so it’s not unlikely they’re living in Edinburgh too. They’re all in uniform though, and there’s been numerous indications Cap is taking on the Nomad role–so it goes to follow that while they might base themselves in Edinburgh, they’re being vigilantes in all sorts of places.

Where do you think Wanda has been living since Civil War?

WARNING: Spoilers for set photos for Infinity War and leaked clips

She’s likely been living in Edinburgh. Set photos show her inside a flat there, in different clothes than battle scene we’ve seen, meaning it appears to take place over more than one day. What I’m really curious about is what’s Vision’s living situation? He’s ostensibly still an Avenger, and Wanda’s a fugitive. Makes you think how often Tony wonders where did he misplace Vision for a week.

The lego ‘spoilers’ sounds rather fishy. Well, Marvel are good at not leaking all the info. But I am currently reading the ‘summary’ of IW… I have no idea where it is from. I’ve just found ot quoting on one cinema forum in my native lang’s zone. The summary is written in english, so I bring one thing here:” Vision’s consciouness survives inside the Mind Gem and helps Scarlet Witch momentarily disable the Gauntlet”. This is quite believable. Maybe because I support this theory!

That’s a popular theory! But I’d be a lot more suspicious of anyone who says they have a summary of the movie.

Conversely, LEGO set spoilers aren’t uncommon at all–we first learned about Giant Man in CW 5 months before the movie was released the same way. Just bear in mind that the sets are often embellished in some way, often to make a scene better suited to LEGO form.

Here is the Russian site, if anyone is interested.

RE Vision’s down under: In the instances in the comics and the MCU where Vision has appeared naked, he’s shown to not have any genetalia/reproductive organs (which is likely why he’s allowed to show full frontal at all), and in either universe there’s not really any logical reason for him to be created with them. But, as you said, he could probably make whichever genitals he’d like if he felt like it, and even if he can’t, he’s getting by, because you don’t need a penis to have sex. Be creative.

I’ll take this opportunity to clarify something about Vision:

Avengers vol. 1 #57

Vision’s body was not originally robotic. John Byrne introduced that retcon because he didn’t think Vision should count as a person at all. As he was originally written, his body was entirely that of a human male, just synthetically made. He could even bruise and bleed:

Avengers vol. 1 #132

So much like the idea that Wanda never remembered her kids before Jan let it slip in Disassembled, this was a retcon that directly contradicted previous continuity, instead of just revising our perception of it, so it’s not a clear answer for comics Vision, especially since he’s had several different bodies.
