Listen, I’m still buzzing with excitement about the (potential) Scarlet Witch short series. Wanda’s had just about 10 minutes of screentime per movie, and I’ve always reconciled the fact that the best we could ever hope for was maybe a secondary starring role like Nat in WS in maybe a Doctor Strange movie. But this? This is Wanda getting ten, twenty, thirty times the amount of screentime she ever got in any individual movie.

The potential is enormous. Aspects about her character I never believed they’d ever have time to truly delve into are possible. Agatha. Chthon. Real witchcraft.

We’d be able to see new facets of Wanda. Wanda in the movies only had time for a short character arcs, and they’ve always been filled with tragedy. I imagine her series will still be pretty somber, but the runtime gives us the possibility to see Wanda truly joyful, haughty, angry, hopeful. Wanda shouting, Wanda grieving, Wanda telling jokes,

Wanda being kind. A fullness of character we’d never get to experience in the movies because she was a supporting character in a cast that kept getting more featured characters.

But then there’s also the possibility… like it could actually happen… we’d really get the twins. Wanda as a mutant. Magneto and Magda. And then have it tie back into the movies.

I always half-felt that A4 would have to be the peak for MCU Wanda (and Wanda in general for at least some years)–and now we have whole new worlds of possibilities ahead.
